THE TIMBER PURCHASE
STEP BY STEP

"We know that good planning means good business"

Below is our guide that explains step by step how the process works with Nordic Forest.

1.

Analysis

The timber business begins with an analysis of the action needs on the property. This is the basis for establishing a contract.

6.

Transport

Each assortment receives its own transport order which is sent to our receiving locations.

2.

Contract

In the following dialogue, we agree on price, payment plan, harvesting time, certification and other things that are important to the business.

4.

Felling plan

Before felling starts, the area is planned in detail. The planner can be field personnel or the logging contractor. All planners have completed the SYN Nature Value assessment training via the Forestry Professional Board.

Before felling starts, the land owner is informed, at the same time an application instruction is sent to the contractor about which assortment is to be felled.

7.

Measurement

Measurement of each range is carried out by an independent party, Biometria. Most ranges are measured in m3fub, i.e. stuck under bark, while Grot is measured in Mwh. The measurement result is then sent to Biometria's database, where a measurement report is drawn up, which is then sent monthly to the landowner.

3.

Registration

The contract is registered in our business system. A job description is sent to the contractor concerned and a timber order is sent to the transport companies.

5.

Felling

Our contractors take responsibility for the felling.  They are both experienced and well trained. The contractors regularly report felled and shoveled volumes. When this reporting takes place, signals are sent to our hauliers with information about the type of assortment that applies as well as the coordinates to the location for pick-up and onward transport.

8.

Settlement

When all the timber has been transported away and measured, you as the land owner are finally accounted for.

Any contractor costs are reported and deducted from the timber proceeds.

Payment is made according to the payment plan that has been drawn up.
